Washington, DC: January 8-13, 2016
In order to see more clearly that which surrounds us on a daily basis, we occasionally need a change of scenery! Join us for such a change at the end of Winter Break as we travel to Washington DC. We will spend intentional time learning about the complicating causes of homelessness, the stories of our homeless neighbors, and what our faith has to say about all of this.
The reason we take Immersion trips is to spark our curiosity about what we are able to do in our own community. Our entire year of service-learning at the Student Center will be dedicated to the topic of homelessness. It is expected that attending this trip will be a catalyst for thoughtful reflection and action before and after our time in DC.
In addition to learning about homelessness, we will also have an opportunity to visit the Washington National Cathedral and explore our Nation's Capitol.
Estimated cost is $700 including flights with the group. If you prefer to fly on your own, cost is estimated to be $350 per person.
Download the application here and return it to Beth at firstname.lastname@example.org. Due on October 30th.
