Take a study break this Tuesday and come to the annual Crawfish Boil!  Miles and co. will be preparing a feast of crawfish and all the fixin’s, so put it on your calendar!

LAST SERVICE OF THE SEMESTER
May 11, 6:30 pm service
During our last regular service of the semester, we would like to honor Miles and our seniors for their time and presence here at the Student Center.  If you are leaving our community (graduating or otherwise), please plan to join us at our regular 6:30 pm service for special prayers and blessings on your future endeavors.  Join us for dinner afterwards to celebrate Miles’ ministry with a special meal and slideshow.

MUSICIANS FOR NEXT YEAR
We’re looking for musicians and vocalists for the fall semester.  So if you play guitar, like to sing or play another instrument please reply to this e-mail for more information.  It doesn’t matter which service you’re interested in (Sunday nights, Taize on Tuesdays, etc), just let us know if you’re interested!

COMMUNITY SERVICE /INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
St. David's Episcopal Church in downtown Austin has a thriving special events ministry to the community.  They are in need of person(s) to assist with setting-up/serving/tearing down at various special events, research, assisting with marketing and general office work.  The position would be great for someone interested in Marketing, the Hotel/Motel Industry, or Event Planning or it could also be considered community service (in other words this is not a paid position).  Contact Lisa Kay Pfannenstiel, Director of Special Events, St. David's Episcopal Church, 472-1196 ext. 132.

 INTERESTED IN BABYSITTING?
We get a ton of requests from local and parish families for the occasional babysitting job, and even some requests for part-time nannies, so to help connect them to you we’re making a phone list that we will give (upon request) to interested families.  If you would like to be included on that list, please email me with your full name and the best phone number to reach you at.

GOING TO BE IN AUSTIN THIS SUMMER?
Just because school is over for the semester doesn’t mean our fun here at the Student Center will end.  Our first Sunday service will be June 15th, and our Wednesday night dinner and Bible study will begin on June 18.  If you’ll let Whitney know via e-mail wkirby@utepiscopal.org that you’re staying for the summer, she can put you on a modified mailing list.

Food for Thought: The Mosaic that Shows us the Face of God
“A mosaic consists of thousands of little stones.  Some are blue, some are green, some are yellow, some are gold.  When we bring our faces close to the mosaic, we can admire the beauty of each stone.  But as we step back from it, we can see that all these little stones reveal to us a beautiful picture, telling a story none of these stones can tell by itself.  That is what our life in a community is about.  Each of us is like a little stone, but together we reveal the face of God to the world.  Nobody can say, ‘I make God visible.’ But others who see us together can say, ‘They make God visible.’  Community is where humility and glory touch.”
